This work has been made in collaboration with Grafische Werkplaats, Den Haag. Grafische Werkplaats invited Uit Het Gareel and Friends to make new works and to out of our comfort zone. To use techniques we never used before, go crazy big or use new materials.
For her project ‘Wild Pigments’ Studio Poca made natural inks with wildflowers. The screenprints on a high-quality organic cotton voile capture the sensuality that hides in the shadow play at golden hour. Collecting the wildflowers, making the inks and the screen printing itself formed a meditative ritual, in connection with the wild beauty of this harvest season. The wild ingredients used are tansy, goldenrod & madder. For the cooler tones, Poca used walnut and red cabbage.
